Permit

from $3,500.00

The Permit, or Trachinotus falcatus, is a special species. Known to be notoriously hard to target, these athletic predators occupy a wide range of habitats. From brackish waters, tidal flats, surf zones, and even the open blue, these voracious predators are notorious. They are best recognized by their scythe like anal and dorsal fins. Much like trout, permit do not live in ugly places. An expedition to target them on a fly will often lead anglers to remote tropical islands and the Atlantic coast of central America. I hope to take a trip to the Bahamas to hunt these hunters soon.
